Gas Separation

Gas purification and separation are important in a variety of industrial applications and plants. The rising energy demand of the world's population necessitates a rapid shift to alternative renewable energy sources, such as hydrogen. Membrane technology has a lot of potential in the gas separation sector because of its simplicity, cost effectiveness, and low energy requirements, in comparison to the conventional methods. Our group deals with engineering strategies such as functionalization, creating polymer nanocomposites to achieve unprecedented physico-chemical properties and gas separation performance. We primarily work with polymer membranes, especially, track etched polymer membranes and conjugate polymer membranes, to obtain outstanding separation performance.
